Confirmation Class

Informational Meeting: Pastor Melly will host a brief meeting on Sept. 9, 2018 immediately following 1st service. This meeting is for all confirmands, their parents, and their mentors.

Parents and mentors are encouraged to be there just for the first 10-15 minutes for the overview, then Confirmands will begin the first class, if possible.

A Confirmation Class will be offered for students in 7th and 8th grades beginning in September 2018 and continuing through the academic year.  It will meet during the Sunday School hour under the leadership of Pastor Momo, along with other staff and volunteers.  Confirmation is the process through which youth learn more about their faith and about the church as they prepare to “confirm” the vows made on their behalf at baptism.  At the end of the class, students who have fully participated and who wish to join the church will have the opportunity to do so.  Youth who are older than 8th grade, but wish to become church members should talk with one of the pastors to determine if Confirmation Class would be appropriate.

We are planning to use adult mentors as part of the confirmation experience.
