It is with mixed emotions that we share that Bishop Frank Beard and the Cabinet of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference have appointed Bennett Woods, as of July 1, 2023, to the Tuscola and Pesotum United Methodist churches and the communities surrounding the churches. It was announced April 30, 2023 at Industry UMC (where Bennett is the pastor).

This appointment for Bennett also impacts Wesley UMC and our ministries, so we wanted to share this information with the congregation. There will be lots to do in the next two months for Kim Woods, our Discipleship Director, and for Bennett, both in their personal and professional lives, including packing and, for Kim, finding new employment. The Cabinet is hopeful that there will be opportunities for Kim in the area to find full-time employment that can serve as her appointment as she becomes a Commissioned Deacon at this Annual Conference.

Our Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) and Wesley Foundation Board and students have been notified.

In the weeks ahead our SPRC will be exploring all of the details about our ministry to children and adults and exploring a new Director of Discipleship.
