Youth Mission Trips

Wesley youth have enjoyed going on mission trips for many, many years. Below are a few of the recent mission trips.

2023

 In 2023 Wesley Church went back to Granite City, IL, for an all-ages mission trip July 9-14, 2023. Youth entering 9th grade or high may attend. Youth entering 8th grade and lower may attend if a parent comes on the trip. More information and a video are available in the Missions Team Mission Trips page.

2022

 In 2022 Wesley Church took an all-ages mission trip to Granite City, IL, July 10-15, 2022. Youth attended. Youth entering 9th grade or high may attend. Youth entering 8th grade and lower may attend if a parent comes on the trip. More information and a video are available in the Missions Team Mission Trips page.

2021

The 2021 Youth Mission Trip was to southern Illinois, June 20-25, 2021. We worked at Little Grassy Camp.   We stayed at First UMC in Carbondale, IL (where Howard White is the pastor). On Tuesday evening, we were part of a Kidz Blast: Summer Night Out at Grace UMC in Carbondale, IL (where Jungil Rhee is the pastor).

2020

The 2020 Youth Mission Trip has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. We hope to go to Nashville, TN, in 2021.  The details of what we'll be doing will be worked out later, but may included Project Connect Nashville, Hands On Nashville, and UMCOR. 
Youth going into 9th grade or higher may attend. Youth going into 8th grade and lower may attend if a parent comes on the trip.

Junior High Mission Trip - Cancelled. We are in the process of planning a 2.5-day mission trip.  We think it will be Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday, either July 17-19 or July 24-26.  This Junior High Mission Trip is open to youth going into 7th, 8th, or 9th grade.  Parents may attend, but a parent is not required. If there is a date (of the two possibilities listed above) you can not attend, let Marilyn or Jim know.

2019

The 2019 Mission Trip is to Minnesota June 9-15, 2019. We will be working in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul) area. Included will be:

• VBS at Hennepin Avenue UMC  Website, VBS.
• Hope4Youth - Hope4Youth
• Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) www.fmsc.org
• Mary's Place  https://sharingandcaringhands.org/marys-place  Life story of Mary Jo. We met Mary Jo (born 1942) and give her a prayer shawl!
• Salvation Army
• Managers On a Mission Website.

We stayed at the Cross of Glory* church in Hopkins, MN.

2019 Scripture: Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”  And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Joyful Noise Concert is Friday evening.

2017

The 2017 Mission Trip will be to Virginia Beach, VA June 10-17. 42 people from 5 churches. Map of or ministry points.
