"Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone" - Macomb Wesley UMC Traditional Service
This Sunday, we welcomed Pastor Melly as she delivered the message, "Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone." Our Gospel lesson from Matthew 4:1-11 (NRSV) recounted Jesus' time in the wilderness, where He overcame temptation by relying on the Word of God. The memory verse, Matthew 4:4, reminds us:
"One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God."
The congregation joined in worship with these cherished hymns:
🎵 "Lord, Who Throughout These Forty Days"
🎵 "Break Thou the Bread of Life"
The Chancel Choir offered the moving anthem "Go to Dark Gethsemane," while the Wesley Ringers presented the reflective piece "Prelude at Dawn."
Tim Mealiff enriched our worship with beautiful organ selections for the Prelude, Offertory, and Postlude.
As we continue our Lenten journey, may we seek the true nourishment that only Christ provides.
