Macomb Wesley UMC Contemporary Service
As we step into Holy Week, we begin with the story that feels triumphant… but carries a deeper meaning beneath the surface.
This Sunday, we gather for Palm Sunday with a message titled “The Jesus Setup.” Centered on Luke 19:28–38, we’ll walk alongside the crowd shouting “Hosanna!”—and consider what they expected Jesus to be, versus who He truly came to be.
Was this a celebration… or a setup?
As the road is lined with palms and praise, we’re invited to reflect on our own expectations of Jesus—and what it means to truly follow Him, not just in moments of excitement, but in lives rooted deeply in Him.
Our memory verse for the week reminds us:
“Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him…” (Colossians 2:6–7)
